Diary of a thinking to return ex-Jw
by reniaa ini thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.
i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!
she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .

Christian religions that just follow jesus and don't look to closely to his words other than forgiveness don't appeal to me with their people-pleasing wishy-washiness.
To Following God you must know his son. The only references I remember the wts making to Jesus was the memorial and the greatest man book which took away his deity
You speak of following Jesus yet if you read the entire Bible who is spoken of nt and ot. JESUS!
Matthew 11:27
My Father has given me everything, and he is the only one who knows the Son. The only one who truly knows the Father is the Son. But the Son wants to tell others about the Father, so that they can know him too.John 8:19
"Where is your Father?" they asked. "You don't knowme or my Father!" Jesus answered. "If you knew me, you would know my Father."John 14:7
If you had known me, you would have known the Father. But from now on, you do know him, and you have seen him."John 14:9
Jesus replied: Philip, I have been with you for a long time. Don't you know who I am? If you have seen me, you have seen the Father. How can you ask me to show you the Father?John 16:3
They will do these things because they don't know either the Father or me.These are some of the scriptures that tell you why CHRISTIANS speak of Jesus so much. Not to mention the fact that he is our SAVIOR sent by the Father.
Hebrews 1:8
When God brings his first-born Son [ b ] into the world, he commands all of his angels to worship him. 7 And when God speaks about the angels, he says,
"I change my angels into wind
and my servants
into flaming fire."
8 But God says about his Son,
"You are God,
and you will rule
as King forever!
Your [ c ] royal power brings about justice.
8 Christ was humble.
He obeyed God
and even died
on a cross.
9 Then God gave Christ
the highest place
and honored his name
above all others.
10 So at the name of Jesus
everyone will bow down,
those in heaven, on earth,
and under the earth.
11 And to the glory
of God the Father
everyone will openly agree,
"Jesus Christ is Lord!"

Being in a place of no answers is like I've said before = no mans land of Crusoe on his island. Acceptance of it is good and then welcoming new people is better. I think that's where its at? Wishing for lifelong soulbonds is delusional - a dream of mine that didn't happen btw
you don't want to necessarily hang out with everyone you meet anyway. were there not some jw that you didn't want to hang with?

If you read the scriptures that I posted did you not get a sense that the org might be seriously wrong? Are you accepting the org’s word that they are the truth, or have you come to that conclusion on your own by reading the bible?
Jesus is the truth. No one church has a monopoly on the truth. I think for the most part mainline churches are in agreement on the really important doctrine. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. It’s up to each individual to seek truth. I feel that the org is way off, so way off that I don’t consider it a Christian organization. If you truly read your bible without JW blinders, praying for guidance and protection, you would see it for yourself.
The problem with the wts is not that they are wrong because none of us are perfect. The problem is that when their members bring this to their attention it is not welcome and the members are punished some to the point of df. Thats the problem. why not admit your wrong and continue on?

Where do you start to find the answers to God?
by Hope4Others ini thought i have relatively had everything figured out, like life, death, god does he exist or does he not.
is the bible make believe?.
can we really be sure that it is inspired, after all we were not around to see the process being done.

I think some who look to God, or a higher power sometimes want a crutch to lean on ; so they don't have to think for themselves. Not trying to sound harsh - but it's the conclusion I have come to.
You have come to a conclusion that Satan is very proud of just like all the other positive thinking gurus. Lean not upon you own understanding. Believe me a christian uses their brain more than you could imagine.

As ex-jw, well me an ex-study, it is confusing at the beginning. I felt as you but i quickly got a hold of myself and decided to read another translation of the Bible. I had been told many times that they changed the Bible but would not listen. This helped me tremendously because the jw had told me their Bible was the same but I found out 17 yrs later major differences. One of the main differences I discovered was that i really couldn't understand the scriptures in it because it is not in laymens terms! Then when i broke it down it is not the same. simular just dosen't cut it.
I was raised as a Baptist from 9 to 18. Then I remembered this and decided to go back to the God I knew. I don't feel like I ever left him but my relationship with him was very distant, especially with Jesus. I doubted throughout my studies but continued.
Once I decided to leave for good my whole world changed. I wondered if they were right but that quickly faded when i started searching the net. Then I came here.
Jw are not evil. I see them as the Pharassies. They make God's word burdensome. They also lean on their own understanding in some respects.
My advice to you is to read your Bible and pray for God's Holy Spirit to lead you. Sometimes you will feel like God is not there, and thats normal but you must keep pressing on. You cannot stop searching for God. His words are in the scriptures. He tells us all about him and his glorious Son! We don't know everything but you will see that as you study the word your answers will come. Sometimes I'll have a question and it is answered immmediately. Other times i meditate on his word and it comes. It use to freak me out but then i grew to accept God's wonderfulness.
There is no better way to live! Going to church is really important too.there you fellowship with people just like you who don't mind praying for you and helping each other out. Go where you feel comfortable and where you will hear the word for this builds faith as the Bible tells us.
Reconcile yourself to God. You probably won't hear him speak, i havent yet except through preachers, reading the word, you know not his audible voice yet.
The gospel tells us that we must believe that we must ask God to forgive us for our sins. This must be heartfelt and sincere. This is not some mindless thing. For we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. We all know that we sin. We must also believe that Jesus died for our sins and was raised from the dead. We must ask God to accept us and to come into our lives and be Lord or ruler of us. We must also ask for the Holy Spirit to guide us in God's ways. Prayer is very important in our relationship with God.
We must not let anyone come between our relationship with God. Satan is our main advesary so we must pray to God to protect us from his evil deeds.
Being a christian is not an easy road becaue the world is always trying to make you loose the faith you have. When you feel like God is not there don't worry he is there. we all feel that way sometimes. He takes care of us as he sees fit and we must understand that. He knows what is best for us and what we need and when we need it. I live this life and I know its true.
Im not prefect but i try to serve God to the best of my ability. Put God first. Jw always say this but we know they put the wts first so thats where they make their mistake i think.
This is getting long and i'd love to say more so if you would like to hear more please feel free to ask.

Whats wrong with obeying God?
by real one inmany who post here are always talking about they don't need god and that they don't believe in god and that he dosen't exist.
god does not ask us to do unreasonable things.
most of the things he ask us to do protects our lives.. why don't people get that?

So real one when are you going to start up your own religion, you sound like you heading in that direction ?
Do you think you can handle the power ?
why do i need to start a religion when i myself rely on God's inspired word and Holy spirit to lead me? I need His power as much as the next person ruling me. I am just being a disciple and trying to make disciples, thats all.

The one thing that disturbs me the most about JWs. Why can't they see it?
by MinisterAmos inever since day one of our jw experience, we have all been prayed to by the bro on-stage at least twice per meeting.
have any of you ever really listened to what they are asking from god?
at the start of my association the prayers were pretty generic, but now *every* one asks that god only provide for other witnesses.

you are correct. they call themselves christians but they are the only christians they care about. a brother was talking about the Katrina thing in new orleans when they went out there to help witness only. this really bothered me but they were so proud.like you better be glad your a witness cause if not when disaster strikes we only help our own. sure

so Aguest are you telling me that you do not believe in the trinity? The Father Son and Holy Spirit? you believe that the Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ? ok well explain these then
18 This is how Jesus Christ was born. A young woman named Mary was engaged to Joseph from King David's family. But before they were married, she learned that she was going to have a baby by God's Holy Spirit.
21 At that same time, Jesus felt the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, [a] and he said: My Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I am grateful that you hid all this from wise and educated people and showed it to ordinary people. Yes, Father, that is what pleased you
As bad as you are, you still know how to give good gifts to your children. But your heavenly Father is even more ready to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks.
As bad as you are, you still know how to give good gifts to your children. But your heavenly Father is even more ready to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks.
33 Before this I didn't know who he was. But the one who sent me to baptize with water had told me, "You will see the Spirit come down and stay on someone. Then you will know that he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit."
Then he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
2 until he was taken up to heaven. But before he was taken up, he gave orders to the apostles he had chosen with the help of the Holy Spirit
Don't leave Jerusalem yet. Wait here for the Father to give you the Holy Spirit, just as I told you he has promised to do.
33 Jesus was taken up to sit at the right side [a] of God, and he was given the Holy Spirit, just as the Father had promised. Jesus is also the one who has given the Spirit to us, and that is what you are now seeing and hearing.
We are here to tell you about all this, and so is the Holy Spirit, who is God's gift to everyone who obeys God.
55 But Stephen was filled with the Holy Spirit. He looked toward heaven, where he saw our glorious God and Jesus standing at his right side. [a]
Ananias left and went into the house where Saul was staying. Ananias placed his hands on him and said, "Saul, the Lord Jesus has sent me. He is the same one who appeared to you along the road. He wants you to be able to see and to be filled with the HolySpirit."
God gave the HolySpirit and power to Jesus from Nazareth. He was with Jesus, as he went around doing good and healing everyone who was under the power of the devil.
Acts 11:16
I remembered that the Lord had said, "John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the HolySpirit."This good news is about his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ! As a human, he was from the family of David. But the HolySpirit proved that Jesus is the powerful Son of God, because he was raised from death.
pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will bless you and be kind to you! May God bless you with his love, and may the HolySpirit join all your hearts together.
not to be easily upset or disturbed by people who claim that the Lord has already come. They may say that they heard this directly from the HolySpirit, or from someone else, or even that they read it in one of our letters.
God the Father decided to choose you as his people, and his Spirit has made you holy. You have obeyed Jesus Christ and are sprinkled with his blood. I pray that God will be kind to you and will keep on giving you peace!
But Christ has blessed you with the HolySpirit. Now the Spirit stays in you, and you don't need any teachers. The Spirit is truthful and teaches you everything. So stay one in your heart with Christ, just as the Spirit has taught you to do.

Aguest,
what does these mean?
1 The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert, so that the devil could test him.
32I tell you that any sinful thing you do or say can be forgiven. Even if you speak against the Son of Man, you can be forgiven. But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven, either in this life or in the life to come.
19 Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
As soon as Jesus came out of the water, he saw the sky open and the Holy Spirit coming down to him like a dove.
Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit, who would be given to everyone that had faith in him. The Spirit had not yet been given to anyone, since Jesus had not yet been given his full glory
7 But I tell you that I am going to do what is best for you. That is why I am going away. The Holy Spirit cannot come to help you until I leave. But after I am gone, I will send the Spirit to you.
26 But the Holy Spirit will come and help [a] you, because the Father will send the Spirit to take my place. The Spirit will teach you everything and will remind you of what I said while I was with you
